Srikakulam: People urged not to visit offices to submit petitions

Srikakulam: Srikakulam district administration has appealed to the people not to visit government offices in the wake of increase in number of Covid-19 cases.

District Collector J Nivas suggested that people file grievances and petitions through online i.e. WhatsApp and e-mail. The Collector also directed officials at the mandal and division level to switch over to paperless transactions in a bid to stem the spread of coronavirus.

The Officials of all departments displayed big size boards and banners in front of their offices requesting people not to visit offices. The officials put up flexy boards and banners to explain to the people how to register their grievances online. People can register their grievances by sending petitions to e-mail id spandanasrikakulam@gmail.com or to WhatsApp number 9491222122.

Spandan programme for resolving the grievances, which is conducted every Monday, was also cancelled.

The internet service centres have been making money with the district administration urging the people to send their grievances online. Some of the providers of the online and internet services are reportedly collecting Rs 100 to send one grievance to main id spandanasrikakulam@gmail.com.

"People need not worry as their grievances received through online will be registered and issues will be solved," said District Revenue Officer B Daya Nidhi.
