Srikakulam: Security tightened along borders to curb spread of virus

Srikakulam: Security has been tightened along Visakhapatnam to contain the spread of Covid-19. Security has also been stepped up along the border of Ganjam district in Odisha State. There are fears of spread of coronavirus case with the people freely moving between Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam and also between Ganjam district and Srikakulam.

Ganjam district has been declared as Red Zone with as many as 118 coronavirus positive cases being reported.   A good number of employees working in various departments and banks are commuting from Visakhapatnam to Srikakulam daily though it amounts to violation of lockdown restrictions.

In an attempt to check the movement of people, check-posts have been set up at various places along the borders of Visakhapatnam and Ganjam district.
