Srikakulam: Sudden spike in positive cases cause for concern
Srikakulam: Sudden rise in Covid-19 positive cases in the district is causing serious concern among people. According to District Surveillance Officer (DSO) for Covid-19 cases, Dr Bagadi Jagannadha Rao, a total 65 coronavirus positive cases were reported in the district till Wednesday.
Of them, as many as five cases had been discharged after recovery. At present, a total of 60 active cases are under treatment. Out of 60 Covid-19 positive cases, one case related to a person who returned from Vijayawada, another from Hyderabad, one each from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The remining 56 persons who tested positive for virus were those who returned from Chennai. Most of the infected persons belonged to Itchapuram, Sompeta, Kaviti and Santhabommali mandals in the district. Till Wednesday a total of 36,577 samples were collected and results received were 32, 23.Results for 4346 samples are awaited.
