SRM Varsity celebrates Gurupujotsavam
Vijayawada: To mark Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's birth anniversary, Gurupujotsavam programme was held at the SRM University Amaravati campus on a grand note on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-chancellor Dr Jamshed Bharucha said that Gurupujotsavam was celebrated as a mark of respect and honour to the teachers only in India across the world. He explained the value and importance of teachers and said that everyone should respect the teacher throughout their life for teaching and transforming into an able citizen of the country.
University chief liaison officer P Ramesh Kumar read out a poem about the greatness of a teacher. A cake was cut by the V-C and pro-V-C Dr D Narayana Rao on the occasion. Registrar Dr Gunashekar, Deputy Registrar Dr Siva Kumar, dean Vijayasekhar, professors and others were present.
