ST Sub Plan must spend for STs development: Sreevani
Amaravati: The State government has allocated Rs 4,988 crore for ST Sub Plan and the entire amount must be spent for the STs development, suggested the Deputy CM (Tribal Welfare) P Pushpa Sreevani.
She conducted a review meeting on ST Sub Plan Nodal Agency on Monday at Secretariat, in which officials from 45 departments and corporations have participated.
Deputy CM observed that in the previous government, the Sub Plan funds were diverted for other purposes, but in this government, it should not be repeated.
Reacting on the works put on hold, she suggested officials review all the pending works and asses which should be taken on a priority basis. She also directed them to find which work is needed and which not.
At the same time, she asked officials to undertake new works with the available funds.
Tribal service centres to be constructed at the Tribal areas, she said. When the Village Secretariat to be constructed, a separate room to be constructed for the Tribal Service centre, she added.
While discussing on the distribution of the land to the Tribal people, she asked officials to make arrangements to give housing as well as agriculture lands to the Tribals on Ugadi day.
