Staff on election duty can get postal ballots at work places

Kadapa: District Collector Ch. Harikiran said that in view of employees who were deployed for election responsibilities to utilising their vote in time, Election Commission Of India (ECI) has issued new guidelines on Sunday.

Addressing a meeting of 'Master Trainers' on Sunday Collector disclosed that as many as 25,000 employees with various designations in the district. The Collector has recalled that in the earlier government, employees who were engaged in election duty were facing hurdles to exercise their franchise due to several reasons .

He said that to avoid such problems, ECI proposed to issue postal ballots at the facilitation centres during the 4 day training being organised at Kotireddy Mahila College, Saint Joseph's College from 2nd to 5th April.
