State to promote tourism, IT development in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: District Collector V Vinay Chand said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is ready extend all support for the comprehensive development of Visakhapatnam district.

Addressing the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations at Convention Centre in Andhra University here on Friday, the Collector said the government would extend all support to develop tourism and IT sectors in Visakhapatnam including metro train for city.

He also recalled the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for the formation of the separate Telugu state. VMRDA chairman Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao recalled the services of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for the development of Information Technology sector in Vizag.

GVMC Commissioner G Srijana, DRDA PD V Vishweshwara Rao, Judge CEO Ramana Moorthy, Forest Officer Jyothi, APIC Sub Collector D Anita, Deputy Chairperson of Backward Classes Welfare Department Tanuja Rani, Child Welfare Department PD Sita Maha Lakshmi, DCO MD Milton and tourism official Purnima Devi were present.

Later, the leaders paid tributes to portraits of freedom fighters. Students from different schools participated in the programme and presented cultural programmes.
