Stone laid for Rs.59 cr works at RSVP

Tirupati: The Union Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has laid the foundation stone for Rs.59.08 crore development works at Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) on Wednesday.

The works include RS.29.5 crore for new hostel block with 166 rooms and to cater to the needs of 500 students. A five-storeyed additional classroom building will also come up with a cost of Rs.27.26 crores. It will have 29 lecture halls and four conference halls.

A sewerage treatment plant is being set up with Rs.2.32 crores to cater to horticulture needs of the Vidyapeetha. Chancellor N Gopala Swamy, Vice-Chancellor Prof V Muralidhara Sharma, Tirupati MP B Durgaprasada Rao, Registrar Prof GSR Krishna Murthy and others were present.

The Minister has also inaugurated two new departments and week-long Sanskrit celebrations. The new departments will be performing arts and translation.
