Student strength on rise in RMC schools

Rajamahendravaram: The number of admissions was increasing in municipal corporation schools in the city as the corporation succeeded in bringing awareness among the parents briefing about the facilities available in the corporation schools.

Last year, as many as 11,138 students studied in the corporation schools out of which 5,980 in 13 high schools, 462 in upper primary schools and 4,696 in 50 primary schools in the city.

Out of 1,129 students, as many as 1,109 students passed the tenth class public examinations. Five high schools achieved 100 per cent pass percentage. This year the number of admissions was also satisfactory and the parents are sending their children.

According to corporation commissioner Sumit Kumar, all the vacant teacher posts were filled, necessary amenities were provided, granite flooring was completed, separate sanitation staff appointed, an impressive ambience created in the respective schools, English medium was introduced in all schools, special focus on tenth class students and quality teaching with qualified teachers to the students, implementation of midday meals. The corporation is very much particular to strengthen the schools more in all fronts, he averred.
