Students exhibit antique items
Visakhapatnam: Marking the World Heritage Day, the Visakhapatnam Chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) and Visakha Museum organised a unique heritage-expo at the museum on Thursday. Students from Pollocks, Visakha Valley, Delhi Public School and Vignan participated in the expo.
Packing some of the antique items from home, they arrived at the museum to display their collection. A Vintage table clock, a telescope, a spinning wheel, copper containers and other artifacts which date back to 1940s were showcased by the students. Speaking on the occasion, GVMC Visakha Museum curator M N A Patrudu said, "The objective of the expo is to make children aware of antique pieces which are available in their homes and do a little bit of research on it.
But the best part is that children explained the use of the artifacts put up at the venue and mentioned when and where they were manufactured."The students said that the expo made them learn many historical facts which they were not aware of.
