Students participate in voter awareness run

Vijayawada: To spread voter awareness among people, the Andhra Pradesh chapter of Let's Vote launched campaign in Mangalagiri on Saturday. "Let's Vote" initiative is aimed at helping citizens to find their voice, exercise their right and contribute to positive development outcomes.

The students made a successful attempt to spread the message on the importance of vote and the benefits of using this right. Participants were not only raising the slogans to spread the message on the importance of vote but also displayed posters, banners and placards on the need for exercising the voting right to fulfil the democratic responsibility and elect honest persons with integrity.

K Malakondaiah, co-convener of Let's Vote said everyone should feel their responsibility to cast their vote.JA Chowdary, IT Advisor to the Government of Andhra Pradesh stated that a person who does not cast his vote has no right to question.

No one knows what is going to happen after five years. So everyone should cast their vote in the elections without fail. Everyone should volunteer for Let's Vote campaign, he added.A huge crowd witnessed the walk and more than 500 students from various colleges took part in a marathon run to create awareness on the right to vote.
