Students urged to avail services of Mahila Mithra
Vijayawada: Krishna District Additional Superintendent of Police M Sattibabu has urged the students of IIIT to utilise the services of Mahila Mithras to resolve their problems.
He visited the IIIT in Nuzvid on Sunday and explained the importance of Mahila Mithra and services rendered to women. He said that the police department appointed the Mahila Mithra committees in all police stations in the State and local women and girls could always avail the services.
Sattibabu explained the POCSO Act, Diasha App and Disha Act to the students. He said crime against women was continuing in the state in spite of measures being taken by the government to check and give protection to the women and girls.
He said the police department recently launched Disha app and asked the students to download it to get immediate assistance in case of need. Local police, representatives of NGOs, Mahila Mithra committees and others attended the meeting.
