Success comes from discipline: NABARD chief
Tirupati: KREA University's IFMR Graduate School of Business (IFMR GSB) held its convocation at its Sri City campus on Saturday. Dr Harsh Kumar Bhanwala, Chairman, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was the chief guest of the ceremony. Dr Sunder Ramaswamy, Vice-Chancellor, KREA University and Dr V Anantha Nageswaran, Dean, IFMR GSB also graced the occasion.
Delivering the convocation address, Harsh Kumar shared some of his views on rural 'Bharat' and its important contribution to the national economy. He discussed on a few areas and issues that are grappling Indian agriculture. "As you move out into the corporate world, do remember that success comes from a professional orientation, and professional orientation comes from discipline and capacity," he advised the students.
Awards were presented to students, who had demonstrated leadership skills, and all-round excellence throughout the year. The toppers of the class were honoured and the alumni, who have made significant contribution in the areas of business and management were awarded distinguished alumnus/alumna awards.
All together, 239 MBA (full-time) students and 6 PhD scholars were awarded the graduation certificates. Sri City MD Ravindra Sannareddy briefed the NABARD Chairman on the unique features and the growth of the Integrated Business City during the past 10 years. Dr V Anantha Nageswaran presented a report on the institute and the academic courses and study programmes being offered. Dr Sunder Ramaswamy delivered the inaugural address.
He expressed happiness that their students have got 100 per cent placements in top companies through campus recruitment, and the highest salary offered is Rs 18.8 lakh by Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Limited.
