Visakhapatnam: BJP Rajya Sabha member Y Sujana Chowdary has predicted bleak future for the regional parties. Participating in the 'Seva Saptah' organised to mark the birthday celebrations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Tuesday, he said the regional parties would find it difficult to survive as BJP was in a strong position across all states and in the Centre.

Chowdary reiterated that he entered politics because of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. However, keen on being a part of the national party, he joined the BJP, he mentioned. He called upon businessmen and those in financial sectors to join politics.

Stating that he faced several allegations after entering politics, he said such things were common in the field.

Chowdary, also a member of the Rajya Sabha, blamed the State government for delaying in executing the projects. Earlier, he along with other BJP leaders T G Venkatesh and K Haribabu participated in the 'Seva Saptah' held at the party office wherein wheelchairs, tri-cycles, tailoring machines and other aids worth Rs 20 lakh were distributed to 370 differently-abled persons.

Speaking on the occasion, Chowdary said he was always ready to extend support to such events. The programme was organised by Gurudeva Charitable Trust in coordination with the BJP. T G Venkatesh and K Haribabu also spoke.
