Visakhapatnam: Rajya Sabha member of BJP Y Sujana Chowdary has strongly criticised the functioning of the YSRCP government. Addressing the media here on Saturday, he said the YSRCP government appears to be keen on opposing the projects of the previous government and undoing various initiatives taken by the TDP.

He pointed out the cancellation of contracts in the wake of an economic depression forecast. "YSRCP is involved in redundant feats such as reverse tendering and forward tendering. The government should see how much work has been done so far, take stock of the pending part and seek financial assistance to complete Polavaram Project rather," he pointed out.

"The decisions made by the State government have brought economic activity to a standstill. Signs of improvement will be witnessed only if the YSRCP goes beyond getting personal in handling several initiatives, including tackling natural calamities," Chowdary alleged.

Chowdary demanded that relief to the flood-hit be increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. "I opposed the TDP severing ties with the NDA government when I was in that party and attacking Prime Minister Modi personally," he told the media. The meet was attended by former MP Haribabu, former MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju, MLC PVN Madhav, among others at the BJP party office.
