Police conducting surprise checks at sand dumping yards in Nandigama on Friday

Vijayawada: As per the orders issued by district Superintendent of Police Ravindra Babu, surprise checks were held at sand dumping yards in Nandigama on Friday. The checks were held by the police team led by DSP Abdul Aziz and Nandigama rural Circle Inspector Satish on sand reserves in Kanchikacharla and Veeralupadu mandals.

The police team identified huge sand reserves at Jagannadhapuram village and checked for bills and supporting documents pertaining to the stock. The police officials informed the sand yard people that stern action will be taken against them, if the sand was dumped illegally without possessing proper documents.

The police officials further informed the Veerlapadu Tahsildar to check for the permission of sand dumped in the yard thoroughly. The police asked the sand dumping yard personnel at Kanchikacharla to come with all the relevant documents pertaining to the stock available at the yard.

If they do not possess the documents, the stocks will be seized, said the police on the occasion. Police teams of Veerlapadu and Kanchikacharla participated in the checks.
