SVIMS conducts health camps in B Kothakota mandal

Tirupati: SVIMS conducted Dr YSR Aarogyasri Medical camp at Beerangi of B Kothakota Mandal on Thursday to benefit the poor tribal people. Thamballapalle MLA P Dwarakanath Reddy inaugurated the camp and distributed medicines to patients.

A team of doctors from SVIMS screened 323 patients and conducted ECG, blood and diabetes tests free of cost. The doctors have referred six patients to SVIMS for further medical and surgical treatment. Dr Harshitha, Dr Mohan Priya, Dr Asish, Dr Suneel Kumar, Dr Visveswar Rao, and others participated in the programme.

In another programme held at Kambalapalle village of B Kothakota mandal, SVIMS has organised Pink bus cancer screening initiative which was also inaugurated by MLA Dwarakanath Reddy. Under this initiative, SVIMS has been conducting cancer screening tests for women at various parts of the district free of cost.

In the programme, 100 women were screened for oral cavity, ultra sound and other tests. MLA has congratulated SVIMS Director Dr B Vengamma and her team for their initiative in coming to the doorstep of rural women.

Dr Niveditha, Dr Srivani, Dr Harika, Dr Pravallika, Dr Chaitanya Bhanu, V Rajasekhar and others were present along with local leaders B Arun Kumar Reddy, B Krishna Reddy, S Bhaskar Reddy and K Narayana Reddy.
