SVIMS, RSVP ink MoU for collaborative research in Tirupati
Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) and Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) on Thursday entered an MoU to develop collaborative research programmes and pursue joint research projects.
The pact aims at finding effective treatment and healing methods for various chronic diseases among public. Under the MoU, MSc in Yoga Therapy students of RSVP can provide yogic therapeutic treatment to patients at SVIMS who are suffering from chronic diseases under expert supervision.
While the SVIMS Director Dr TS Ravikumar and RVSP Vice Chancellor Prof V Muralidhara Sharma have initiated the MoU, it was signed and exchanged by Dr TS Ravikumar and SVIMS Registrar TC Kalawat while dean Prof KE Devanathan and Prof Lakshiminarayanan have represented RSVP.
On the occasion, Dr Ravikumar said with this they can demonstrate the evidence of usefulness of yoga therapy in modern context and give best care to common man. Patients suffering from chronic lung diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes and joint ailments will benefit from this integrative therapy of yoga and modern medicine, he said.
