Tadepalli: Engineering faculty told to improve knowledge on AI, cloud computing

Tadepalli: Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has been training the students and the faculty on various technologies to provide them employment opportunities, said Challa Madhusudan Reddy, chairman of APSSDC after inaugurating the online classes for the 3,790 engineering faculty throughout the State in artificial intelligence and deep learning along with AP State Higher Education Council chairman Prof Hemachandra Reddy, APSSDC CEO Dr Arja Srikanth and 360 DigiTMG director Bharani Kumar at the APSSDC office here on Wednesday.

The free online training provided by the APSSDC would help them get employment in software sector, Madhusudan Reddy said and appealed to the faculty to improve their skills to prepare a better syllabus to make the students fare well in the competitive world.

Prof Hemachandra Reddy said that there has been immense demand for sectors like artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cloud computing, big data and others. "The faculty of engineering colleges should improve their knowledge in these subjects," he said.

He said that such development programmes would help the faculty at a time when the new courses like data science and cyber security are being introduced in B Tech from this academic year.

Bharani Kumar said that 360 DigiTMG has come forward to join hands with the APSSDC to provide online training to the faculty and students.

APSSDC technical director Dr Ravi Gujjula, Dr Srikanth and others also spoke.
