Tadepalli: NRTs assured of all help to fight Covid-19
Tadepalli: The State government and Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society are closely monitoring the outbreak of Covid-19, according to the APNRTS here on Wednesday.
The State government has asked all those who returned form several countries to put themselves in self-quarantine for 14 days. Anyone, who fail to comply with the direction, will be subjected to daily medical monitoring.
Fourteen-day mandatory quarantine is in force for passengers travelling from or transiting through China, Iran, Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and UAE.
As of March 17, the Central government prohibited the entry of passengers from all EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, Afghanistan, Philippines and Malaysia till March 31.
The NRTs living abroad are requested to follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health in their respective countries and also maintain personal hygiene to avoid spreading of Covid-19. The APNRTS would like to assure the NRTs on behalf of the State government that the government is taking all steps for their safety. The NRTs will be provided 24/7 assistance through the Helpline regarding travel guidelines and other requirements.

The statement reminds the NRTs to follow measures suggested by the State Health and Family Welfare Department to ensure safety of all: Reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of the novel corona virus; Avoid travelling abroad in upcoming days; Avoid touching surfaces usually used by public (railing, door, gates); Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces; Stay away from the crowded places.
