Tadepalli (Guntur district): The YSRCP celebrated its Foundation Day at the party headquarters here on Thursday with several party leaders and workers attending the celebrations. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Adviser to the Government (Public Affairs) hoisted the party flag. MLA Undavalli Sridevi, party leaders Lakshmi Parvati, M V S Nagi Reddy and Challa Madhusudan Reddy and hundreds of others attended the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Ramakrishna Reddy said that the journey of the party began in the undivided Andhra Pradesh. After the sudden demise of Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and later after the division of the state, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy started a lone fight against all odds.

The people have been with Jagan after the party was launched on March 12, 2011 and even after the formation of the government they were still with him, he said.

The Chief Minister had been steering the state, which had been in deep debts due to the misrule of the previous government, in the right direction, he said.

Ramakrishna Reddy criticised TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for blowing up minor incidents to tarnish the image of the government. "What Buddha Venkanna and Bonda Umamaheswara rao got to do in Macherla where their former MLA Yarapatineni Srinivas was there? They went there only to provoke the local people," he said.

Stating that other states were emulating the programmes introduced by the YSRCP government in the state, he appealed to the party activists to behave in a more responsible way to avoid criticism. "Jagan Mohan Reddy is for establishing a corrupt-free government," he asserted.

Party leaders Pandugayala Ratnakar, Chillapalli Mohan Rao, Dr Mahaboob Shaik, Eeda Rajasekhar, Ankamreddy Narayana Murthy, secretary Siddha Reddy and others were also present.
