Take inspiration from Sindhu, players told by Minister Sidda Raghavarao
Ongole: Former Minister and TDP treasurer Sidda Raghava Rao inaugurated the 2nd Andhra Pradesh Sub- Junior (Under-13) Ranking Badminton Tournament at the Lord Krishna Badminton Indoor Stadium in Ongole on Friday.
He said that sports will help with physical fitness and mental exercise and advised everyone to be a sport. Participating in games would ensure balanced human development, he added.
Raghava Rao appreciated the efforts of Lord Krishna Badminton Academy for providing the best services and coaching in badminton in both the Telugu states and providing good players to the country. He advised the state and central governments to provide more funds for the development of sports in the state.
He advised the players to take inspiration from world badminton champion PV Sindhu and bring fame to their parents, coaches and to the entire country. He congratulated and appreciated Academy chairman Sidda Sudheer, founder president Addanki Murali Krishna, chief coach Bhaskar Babu and wished the players from all 13 districts all the best for the tourney.
A total of 234 players from all districts registered for the tournament but only 180 are attended by the evening. In the first day of the tourney, they organized singles and doubles match for the boys and girls. In the 132 qualifying matches conducted 32 single and 16 doubles teams are qualified for further rounds.
