TDP activist hurt in attack in Jaggaiahpet

Vijayawada: Shaik Salim, a TDP activist, was injured in the attack allegedly led by YSRCP workers in Jaggaiahpet of Krishna district on Thursday. According to information, a dispute broke out during the Ganesh idol immersion procession in the town.

Some miscreants stabbed Salim with a sharp object used for cutting thermocol while he was participating in the procession. Immediately, Salim was shifted to the local hospital and later to Vijayawada to remove the knife which was struck in the back.

Salim was the TDP activists for a long time. Jaggaiahpet former MLA Sriram Tataiah visited the hospital and consoled the victim. Jaggaiahpet police registered a case.
