TDP adopting dirty tricks to malign government: Minister
Visakhapatnam: Tourism Minister M Srinivasa Rao appealed to the political parties not to defame the well-intended developmental programmes being offered by the State government.
Addressing media at the circuit house here on Friday, he expressed resentment over the way the Opposition party was adopting tricks to malign the proposed sand policy and other welfare schemes of the government.
He said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was working relentlessly to provide corruption-free government. Prohibition in a phased manner, 'Amma vodi', supporting financial schemes for artisans, auto-rickshaw drivers and fishermen were some of the schemes implemented for the benefit of all sections of people, he reiterated.
In such a background, he objected to the way a few political parties were maligning the government. He said the proposed sand policy will be rolled out on September 5. Referring to TDP North Assembly constituency MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao's recent comments on developing the city into a financial capital, he wondered what he was doing for the past five years associated with the TDP.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) will release a GO on land grabbing case in a couple of days, he added. The meeting was attended by VMRDA Chairperson Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao, District Collector V. Vinay Chand, among others.
