TDP and BJP MPs urge centre to save Telugu in Andhra Pradesh
TDP member Kanakamedela Ravinder and BJP member GVL have urged the central government to intervene into the state government issue to reconsider its decision to introduce English medium in Andhra Pradesh. This was mentioned during the Rajya Sabha session. "Those who read in Telugu medium were fluent in English later," GVL added.
GVL asked the AP to intervene and give importance to the mother tongue in schools.
It is suggested that the centre should issue appropriate directions to this extent. MP Kanakamedela asked the Center to order the revision of the GO brought by the state government.
There is severe uproar on the introduction of English Medium in government-run schools. Opposition parties criticised the government's decision and demanding to take back the GO.
