TDP gearing for civic polls: Amaranatha Reddy

Chittoor: Though the TDP was defeated in the recent general elections , none of the party leaders in the district defected to other parties, said former minister N Amaranatha Reddy .

While speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, Amaranatha Reddy maintained that YCP government had failed miserably to keep up its poll promises. ``TDP has strong base in the district for decades. In the last municipal elections, the party won all the seats leaving a blank to YCP in Chittoor district.

Stage has been set to face YCP in the upcoming polls for civic bodies," he stated. Listing out the failures of YCP Government, he maintained that lakhs of building workers in the state have lost their lively hood due to defective sand policy.

The progress of al l the ongoing irrigation schemes has been stopped. The prices of essential commodities have gone up skyrocketing. Not even one new industry is coming to the state. He lashed out Chief Minister stating that he had converted the TTD Trust Board as the shelter for the power mongers .

Amaranatha Reddy further said that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu will emerge as the best alternative to Jagan Mohan Reddy as CM. District TDP president P Nani, and others were present.
