TDP leader Ayyanna Patrudu moves High Court over Nirbhaya act case against him
Former minister and TDP Politburo member Ayyanna Patrudu has approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court over the cases against him. Going into details, based on a complaint lodged by the Narsipatnam municipal Commissioner Krishnaveni, a case was filed against Ayyanna under Nirbhaya Act. Meanwhile, the former minister has moved High Court over the the claiming that the government is acting over veneaganace by filing false cases on him. And urged the court to dismiss the case against him and to order further proceedings over his arrest.
Nirbhaya case has been registered against Ayyanna under Section 354-A (4), 500, 504, 5050 (1) (B), 505 (2) and 506, 509 under the Nirbhaya Act. On the 15th of this month, another case was filed against him for staging protest at Municipal Office against the cases. The case is reported to have been filed for violating Coronavirus regulations.
The controversy has arisen after the photo of Ayyanna Patrudu's grand father Ruthala Lachapatrudu's photo was removed from the the municipal office. The former minister has reportedly held a meeting over it and expressed his displeasure. However, Municipal commissioner Krishnaveni alleged that he had made inappropriate comments and filed a case with police against him.
