TDP leaders demand reopening of Anna Canteens

Rajamahendravaram: TDP activists staged dharna at Anna canteen near government hospital here on Sunday, protesting the closure of the canteens. Later, addressing the gathering, the party leaders, Adireddy Appa Rao and YVG Raidu said that YSRCP government intentionally closed Anna canteens not able to digest former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's image.

The canteens started to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for Rs 5 to the poor and needy in the state for which it received tremendous response. Now hundreds of poor people are waiting at the canteens for food.

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy closed the canteens without any proper plan and because of this many poor people are starving. TDP will continue its agitation until the canteens reopen.
