TDP rebel withdraws nomination
Chittoor: The TDP leader R V Subhash Chandra Bose, who filed nomination papers for Palamaner Assembly constituency as a rebel candidate, has withdrawn nomination papers on Thursday, according to District Election Officer P S Pradyumna.
In 2014 general elections, Minister N Amaranatha Reddy had contested on YSRCP ticket and defeated TDP candidate Subhash Chandra Bose with a narrow margin of 2,890 votes. In 2017, Amaranatha Reddy had defected from the YSRCP to TDP.
Bose was instrumental in convincing Amaranatha Reddy to join the TDP. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu gave Palamaner ticket to Amaranatha Reddy this time. Unable to digest Naidu giving ticket to Reddy, Bose filed nomination papers as a rebel candidate.
Chandrababu, who recently visited Palamaner, had assured Bose of nominating as MLC or appointing as a member in the TTD Trust Board. Amaranatha Reddy was present when Bose withdrew nomination.
