TDP Rythu Kosam to expose betrayal of farmers by CM YS Jagan
Mangalagiri: The TDP, at its strategy committee meeting presided over by party national president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday accused Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of adopting double standards on the farm laws.
The TDP leaders said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime had pushed the state agriculture into a deep crisis by following anti-farmer policies. The TDP had extended full support to Bharat Bandh in protest against the farm laws.
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had supported the farm laws in the Parliament but now his government was extending support to the protests of farmers associations. This was yet another stand that had exposed the betrayals and double standards of the ruling YSRCP.
The Jagan rule's failures would be exposed in the Rythu Kosam protests in Krishna and Guntur districts on September 30, the party said.
The TDP meeting decided to hold a meeting in Hindupur on October 6 to protest against the Jagan's betrayal of Rayalaseema farmers with regard to irrigation projects. Groundnut crop was damaged in 15 lakh acre in Rayalaseema. No support was given so far.
The government was imposing all sorts of burdens. Over Rs 29,000 crore loans were being brought through the Power Finance Corporation. Still, Rs 11,000 crore additional burden was placed by hiking power charges. In just two years, Rs. 36,000 crore power burdens were placed on the people.
The TDP leaders slammed the DGP for making 'misleading' statements on the involvement of Vijayawada-based Aashi trading company in drug smuggling. Aashi address was traced to Vijayawada city. But still, the DGP was saying their smuggling activities were not in Andhra Pradesh.
The DGP should explain whether it was not a fact that Aashi company filed GST returns nine times till June with their Vijayawada address. Why did the national-level Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) alert the neighbouring states about AP smuggling, the party asked.
Decrying the DGP's statements, the TDP termed it as atrocious on the part of the police to make light of the smuggling that involved Rs 2 lakh crore drugs. Did the DGP make misleading statements at the behest of Tadepalli orders, it said adding that the YSRCP leaders themselves turned into smugglers of ganja, gutka, red sander, devotees' hair, rice, sand, liquor and heroin.
The meet questioned as to why were forensic tests not done on YSRCP MLA Samineni Udaya Bhanu's son in ganja smuggling case.
The TDP leaders asked why Vijayanand Reddy, who was accused in red sanders smuggling, was made RTC chairman. One Guntur MLA was involved in making gutka.
A police officer facing allegations in a ganja sale was given posting in Guntur zone. It was condemnable that they decided to cut mike to Atchannaidu and Nimmala Ramanaidu, the party said in a statement.
