TDP slams govt. over financial status of the state, demands release of white paper

The Telugu Desam party MLC Ashok Babu made serious allegations on the financial and debt situation in Andhra Pradesh. He was incensed that government has laid burden of Rs. 40,000 crore debt and 70,000 crore tax burden on the people in this year. He pointed out that if Jagan goes to jail for incurring debts of Rs 7 lakh crore during his five-year rule, the state's financial situation would become insurmountable.

He was outraged that the burden of debt on the common man. They demanded the government to immediately release a white paper on the state's economic situation and debt. He asked the government what happened to the Rs 1,250 crore given by the centre for corona prevention measures in the state.

He said the Jagan government had spent only Rs 950 crore releases the National Health Mission and the 14th Finance Commission and questioned whereabout the remaining funds. He said that Rs 160 crore was spent on advertisements.
