TDP will not be cowed down by false cases, says Naidu
Srikakulam: TDP national president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the YSRCP government of foisting false cases against TDP leaders to create impression that all the TDP leaders were corrupt.
Addressing a press conference on his second day tour of the district on Tuesday, Naidu lamented that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had destroyed the assets at Amaravati that were created by the TDP government.
"As chief minister, I adopted land pooling mode and both World Bank and Asian Development Bank came forward to support the development of capital city. We have developed iconic towers, green field projects which were dream projects. As leader of opposition Jagan tried to prevent development by filing cases in courts.
Now as CM he is destroying all the developmental works at Amaravati to erase my legacy," he said. Referring to statements by the ruling party leaders about his "corruption", Naidu pointed out Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as chief minister appointed 22 committees to inquire into allegations against him but failed to prove a single allegation in his career.
He accused the government of foisting false cases to silence TDP MLAs and leaders for questioning the failures of the government. "The YSRCP government registered false cases against 100 TDP leaders in a span of 140 days across the state to create fear among them. But we will not be cowed down.
We fight the government in courts of law," Naidu declared. Taking a jibe at the reverse tendering, the former chief minister said the government was claiming that it was saving public money by going for reverse tendering, but it was "reserve tendering" to benefits its supporters. TDP state president K Kala Venkata Rao, MP K Rammohan Naidu, MLA K Atchannaidu and others attended.
