TDP, YSRCP candidates launch poll campaign

Nellore: Much before release of election notification, Nellore politicians showed enthusiasm and launched poll campaign. Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, Agriculture Minister S Chandramohan Reddy, Nellore Rural candidate Adala Prabhakar Reddy have started their campaign asking for votes. It may be recalled that the Chief Minister had already finalised their candidatures and they were waiting for release of notification. Though it has been delayed, they started campaign expecting it is going to be released in a couple of days.

Minister Narayana is contesting from Nellore city constituency; another Minister Chandramohan Reddy from Sarvepalli and former Minister Adala Prabhakar Reddy from Nellore rural constituencies. Ministers are visiting their constituencies and were asking for votes. Narayana already finalised his campaign schedule and has been visiting various divisions of the corporation regularly.

Further, Atmeeya Samavesalu with certain community people are also on the rise seeking their support in the elections. Both ruling and opposition parties have been organising these meets in city and other parts of the district for assessing response from various communities and the demands from them.

The YSRCP is having 6 MLAs and a MP seat in the district and the sitting candidates are also getting tickets this time too, sources said. So, they had stared election campaign much before start of candidates of the ruling party. They are also meeting various community heads, interacting with them on their problems, explaining them what they had done earlier and assuring to resolve the current problems.

In case of Nellore Parliamentary Constituency, ruling party yet to finalise the candidate and rumours are doing rounds that former legislator and newly joined leader Katamreddy Vishnuvardhan Reddy would be in the fray. The YSRCP had again finalised sitting MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy.

Anam Ramanarayana Reddy is going to be fielded from Venkatagiri, Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy from Kovur, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy from Udayagiri. Gudur yet to be finalised. Some areas in Nellore are also part of Tirupati Lok Sabha seat and the YSRCP has finalised Madhusudana Rao as candidate disregarding sitting MP Vara Prasad. Party sources said he would be considered either for Satyavedu or Gudur Assembly segments.

Only Congress party is trailing in the race and its District President Dr Panabaka Krishnaiah is going to contest from Gudur constituency and candidates for other constituencies have to be finalised.
