TDP, YSRCP candidates spending huge money: CPI
Vijayawada: CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna said that the Election Commission remained silent though the candidates of various political parties were spending money by violating rules. Taking part in a Meet-the-Press programme at the Press Club here on Wednesday, he demanded that the Election Commission should relieve the special observer having connection with the RSS from poll duties in AP.
He wondered as to how candidates of different political parties were spending huge money violating the election code. He asked the Election Commission as to why it had not taken action against any candidate. He pointed out that the common man is not in a position to play active role in politics. The whole country should discuss about the current election trends, the CPI leader said.
Ramakrishna said that the democratic forces would come to power soon. Pointing out that the NDA government failed to provide the Special Category Status to AP, he said the democratic forces would implement all promises made in AP Reorganisation Act.
He said the candidates of the TDP and YSRCP were spending huge money which was looted from public during the election campaign. The people should know the facts and they should teach a fitting lesson to these parties, he said.
