TDP's Round Table conference on capital Amaravati begins in Vijayawada, Naidu addresses meeting
Vijayawada: Former chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been holding a round table conference in Vijayawada on the capital issue Amaravati. Representatives of 17 political parties and 22 people's organisations and associations participated in the round table conference.
Addressing the huge gathering, Chandrababu Naidu underlined the importance of public awareness regarding construction of the capital city of Amaravati. Naidu said that it is to bring awareness among the people of Andhra Pradesh about the importance of Amaravati. "Capital city is important for wealth creation. It's unfortunate that the construction of the capital city is neglected," he said.
"It is everybody's responsibility to ensure that the Amaravati to be the capital of Andhra Pradesh," Naidu said. He stressed that society is permanent not the people. The capital is named Amaravati to make it available and suitable to everyone in the state.
Chandrababu took strong exception to the implementation of Arogyasri in the cities of Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru as the taxpayers' money is going there. Necessary infrastructure could be developed in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu presented a short film on the Amaravati city showcasing how much work was completed. He said that it was not graphic but real and reiterated that capital would benefit the future generations. He said, he would apologize if the the TDP'S decision in Amaravati is wrong.
