Telugu Day fete held at DPS

Vijayawada: Delhi Public School was decked up since Friday morning as girls and boys came in glittering traditional attires to celebrate the Telugu Day in a grand manner. Venna Vallabha Rao, retired Lecturer, Andhra Loyola College, was the chief guest. In his address, he spoke highly about the poets who received Gnanapith awards.

Dr Meena Kumari, retired Telugu Lecturer, Sharada College and B Bala Tripura Sundari, writer of children's literature were the other guests. The chief guest and the guests were felicitated by the management of DPS. Prizes were distributed to winners of the inter-school competitions that were held on the occasion of Telugu Day.

The school reverberated with songs related to Telugu literature and students danced to the tune of Maa Telugu Thalli. Parimi Narendra Babu, pro-vice-chairman, DPS, P Pavan Chand, director, K Praveen, director, G Mala, principal graced the occasion.
