Telugu woman held captive by Kuwait owner

Vijayawada: A person has filed a petition during the Spandana program at Vijayawada Sub Collectorate on Monday. In the petition, he urged the state government to bring back his wife, who is held captive by Kuwait owner.

According to victim's story, Kranti Kumari wife of Karra Yakobu, a native of Chinagollapalem village in Kruthivennu Mandal of Krishna district has gone to Kuwait to work as a domestic servant through agent Prasad four years ago.

Since then, her health got deteriorated due to heavy workload. The situation has become worse with the increase of blood pressure and sugar levels.

In this context, Yakobu has filed a petition at Spandana program that the owner of the house is not giving her proper food, not allowing her to speak over the phone, and threatening to kill on asking to return India. Yakobu said when he asked about this with the agent, he is demanding more money to bring her back.

Over the issue, Vijayawada RDO Chakrapani has responded immediately and informed the Ministry of External Affairs through a Twitter message.
