Tensions high in Vizianagaram amid BJP's 'Chalo Ramateertham', police blocks the protestors
A tense situation prevailed in the Nelimarla area as the BJP again called for Chalo Ramateertham Yatra a popular shrine in Vizianagaram district. On reaching there, BJP state president Somu Veerraju and other party leaders were blocked by the police. This led to a scuffle between the police and the protesters. In this order, Somu Veerraju fell down unconscious, which led to the tense situation ar Nelimarla junction.
At Ramateertham, police have already announced that Police Act 30 will be in force in Vizianagaram division till the end of this month. Meanwhile, the police deployed forces at providing security from Ramateertham junction to temple premises in Bodikonda.
Vehicles are being diverted at Sitaramunipeta junction and deployed troops for further security at Bodikonda hills. Barricades were set up to prevent people from going up the northwest hill. About four thousand people are being manned by police.
