The second Coronavirus positive case also has travel history
Amaravati: The second positive case of Coronavirus reported at Ongole in Prakasam district on Thursday. The department of Health, Medical and Family Welfare confirmed it. While this is the second case in the State, the first case was reported from Nellore district recently.
The young person, who is aged 24 years, resident of Ongole, Prakasam district has visited New Castle, London, UK. After completion of his visit, he travelled from London to New Delhi by flight on March 13. Later, he travelled from New Delhi to Hyderabad on March 14 by flight. Then he travelled on March 15 from Hyderabad to Ongole by mode of bus transport and from Ongole to his residence in Ongole by auto on the same day, according to the official records.
The young person did not have a fever or cough on March 14, but by March 15 he had both fever and cough, which are the primary symptoms of Coronavirus.
On March 16, the information was received from State SSU, AP, Gollapudi and on the same day, the candidate was kept in observation, at an isolation ward in Ongole.
His sample was collected in GGH Ongole on March 17 and he was declared Corona positive at around 11.30 PM on March 18.
District Administration headed by Pola Bhaskar, District Collector has sat till 3 am on March 19 and prepared a contingency plan to cover 3 Kilometers radius containment zone around the patient's residence. 60 teams were formed with ANMs and Asha workers and Doctors, District Officers as Supervisors as per protocol. The officials informed that the health condition of the 24-year-old at Ongole is stable now.
