Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam decides to ban liquor In the Spiritual City Tirupati
If the reports from the TTD officials has to be believed, the pilgrim town of Tirupati is going to become liquor-free very soon. The TTD officials held a review meeting with Trust board members and the decision to this effect was taken on Wednesday.
Speaking to media, TTD trust board chairman Y V Subba Reddy told that the board has decided to enforce a ban on liquor sales in the holy place.
A proposal was sent to the government of Andhra Pradesh for approval. The chairman has said that the Jagan govt is firm in liquor ban in the state. on the other hand, Reddy said that the works of Garuda Varadhi at ALipiri would be started once the redesigning works are over
The board also decided to merge Sri Venkateswara Institution of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) into TTD and proposed to construct a holy city in which a spiritual theatre will be included to play animated version of Mythology films for children.
