Three MLAs hail from Mubagam

Srikakulam: A remote village Mubagam in Narasannapeta Assembly segment provides three legislative members, which is a record in the district elections history. Former minister for revenue, roads and buildings and senior Congress leader Dharamana Prasada Rao elected first time as MLA in 1989 from Narasannapeta Assembly segment. He elected again as MLA in 1994 and in 1999 from the same segment on Congress ticket.

In 2004 and in 2009, Dharmana Prasada Rao shifted to Srikakulam Assembly segment and elected as MLA on Congress ticket. Later he resigned to Congress in the wake of State division and joined YSRCP and appointed as regional coordinator in the party. Elder brother of Dharmana Prasada Rao, Dharmana Krishna Das elected as MLA from the same segment in 2004 on Congress ticket again he elected as an MLA from the same Congress party in 2009 from the same segment.

In 2012, Dharmana Krishna Das resigned from the Congress party and his MLA post also and again contested in byelections and elected as MLA from Narasannapeta segment. In 2014, after the division of the state, Baggu Ramana Murthy of Mubagam village from the same village was elected as MLA on TDP ticket. He is again ready to contest from the same TDP ticket and his rival is Dharmana Krishna Das from YSRCP.
