Three sugar factories to be reopened in State: CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy
Amaravati: Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the officials to reopen the closed sugar factories at Chennur in Kadapa district, Gajulamandyam in Chittoor and Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam district, during a review meeting on cooperative sugar factories and dairies on Tuesday here.
He instructed the officials to prepare proper plans for reopening of all the other closed factories. The people and MLAs from Chennur, Gajulamandyam and Anakapalle have requested the Chief Minister to reopen the factories, which would provide direct and indirect employment to thousands of people locally.
At the same time, he also announced that the government will clear the dues pertaining to the sugarcane farmers in the State who sold their produce to these cooperative sugar factories. He asked the officials to prepare a detailed plan of action to clear the dues.
The Chief Minister also asked the officials to encourage the sugar factories to upgrade their technology and enhance production of sugar and byproducts. Then only they will be able to sustain, he observed.
While discussing on the dairies, Jagan asked the officials to implement the bonus of Rs 4 to the farmers who sell their milk to the cooperative dairies in the State. Milk production must be increased in the State, which would enhance the financial status of the farmers, he added.
