Tirumala Temple: Devotees make Hundi offerings of Rs 123.07 cr in Jan 2023

Tirupati: The TTD netted revenue of Rs 123.07 crore though cash offerings at Tirumala temple Hundi in January this year. According to TTD Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy, on an average the income through the Hundi offerings at Tirumala temple is daily about Rs 4 crore and added that with the considerable increase in the Tirumala temple Hundi offerings in 2022, after the Covid pandemic, the TTD is expecting the annual revenue through the Hundi offering crossing Rs 1,500 crore during the current financial year (2022-23).

With regard to other details of pilgrims, the EO said in January 20.78 lakh pilgrims had darshan while 37.38 lakh pilgrims availed Annaprasadam and 7.51 lakh devotees tonsured their heads.

As many as 1.07 crore laddus were sold. Informing that the Parakamani (the process of sorting and counting of Tirumala temple Hundi offerings) will be held at the newly-constructed `Parakamani Building' near Annaprasadam complex from February 5, he said the new Parakamani building was constructed at a cost of Rs 23 crore donated by a Bengaluru-based devotee Muralikrishna, equipped with all required facilities for conducting the sorting and counting of Hundi offerings in a most transparent manner, giving no scope to any criticism.
