Tirupati: Awareness on HIV in rural areas stressed at SVVU
Tirupati: An awareness rally followed by a meeting has been conducted on the occasion of World AIDS Day in Tirupati on Sunday. Youth Services Department SETVEN and SV Veterinary University (SVVU) have jointly organised the programme.
The rally was flagged off by SVVU Dean Dr TS Chandra Sekhar Rao at Balaji Colony Circle. Speaking on the occasion he underlined the need of creating awareness on HIV particularly in rural areas.
CEO of SETVEN Dr V Murali Krishna has called upon the youth to be part of voluntary blood donation and social service in a big way. SVVU Professor K Sarjan Rao, Associate Dean Prof K Nalini Kumari, NSS programme officer Dr N Jayasri participated in the programme. Staff of medical and health department, AIDS control wing officials, SETVEN office staff, voluntary organisations, NGOs and students also took part.
