Tirupati: CM YS Jagan may launch sites distribution at Yerpedu
Tirupati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to launch the prestigious house site distribution programme from Chittoor district on December 25. According to sources, the Chief Minister will participate in the official distribution of house sites to the poor in Chindepalli village in Yerpedu mandal, 25 km from here, to mark the commencement of the state-wide distribution of the much awaited house sites, to the poor.
Anticipating the Chief Minister's official programme, district collector Dr Narayan Bharat Gupta along with team of concerned officials and local (Srikalahati) MLA B Madhusudan Reddy on Monday inspected Chindepalli where the officials readied the layout comprising house site pattas for distribution to the eligible poor from the nearby towns and villages.
It is learnt that Jagan will launch the distribution in Srikalahati or in Tirupati constituency on December 25.
It may be noted that the YSRCP government planned distribution of 30.66 lakh house site pattas which later came down to 27 lakh house owing to ongoing legal disputes.
In all, 17,436 YSR-Jagannana Colonies will come up in about 11000 panchayats in the state for which the state government acquired 68,677 acre land, including 25,359 acre private land, to which the government paid Rs 10,150 crore as compensation while the market value of the lands including government and private was a whopping Rs 25,359 crore.
