Tirupati: Cyber wing CI bags national award; urban SP adjudged best mentor
Tirupati: CI V Subramanyam Reddy from the cyber wing of Urban police has received national award for best performance in solving cases and also sensitising the people on various cyber frauds through digital posters on social media platform.
The Centre for Research on Cyber Intelligence and Digital Forensics (CRCIDF) had conducted Cyber Policing Best Practices Meet – 3.0 on virtual platform in Hyderabad on December 3,4 and 5, 2021 wherein representatives of police departments from 748 districts across the country participated. They have shared yearlong reports on dealing with cyber crimes.
In this contest, the Tirupati Urban Police District (TUPD) cyber wing CI achieved Best National Investigation Award and SP Chintam Venkata Appala Naidu received 'Best Mentor' award for motivating and encouraging the cyber wing by providing them with updated technology cyber tools used for cracking a case.
After the competitions, the organisers sent a certificate and a memento to District Police Office (DPO) which was received by SP, Additional SP E Supraja, SC ST Cell DSP Naaga Subbanna, Cyber Cell CI V Subramanyam Reddy and Command Control Room CI Abbanna on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Urban SP Ch V Appala Naidu said it is not an ordinary achievement to bag award at national level and after dedicating his award to cyber team, he said the best mentor award for him was possible only due to the hard work, sincerity and dedication of cyber wing team members in discharging their duties.
He wished the CI and his team to achieve many more such awards in national and also international level by solving more and more cyber crimes in coming days.
