Tirupati: Disha police station will be helpful for women in trouble said Collector Narayan Bharath Guptha
Tirupati: Establishing Disha police station will go a long way in solving the crime related cases against women and also helpful for women in distress, said District Collector Narayan Bharath Guptha while inaugurating `Disha Women Police Station' in the pilgrim city on Sunday coinciding with International Women's Day.
The state government took a laudable step in setting up Disha Women Police station which would help women facing problems, the Collector said appreciating Tirupati Urban Police Superintendent Ramesh Reddy for the inauguration of the women police station with all facilities.
SP Ramesh Reddy said police are striving to set up a friendly environment for the general public, especially for women in distress. The Disha Police station will function round the clock with the aim to enhance safety to the women, he said.
Disha Police station is set up with 33 women officials and personnel here would be a boon to the women, he pointed out.
TTD chief vigilance and security officer Gopinath Jatty said Disha Women police station in the city will be helpful to the pilgrim women coming from across the globe in case of any difficulty.
Marking the occasion, DGP Gowtham Sawang interacted with the police and volunteers and also with the members of police families who have come to participate in Disha police station inauguration. Additional SP Supraja, Sushma Reddy, wife of SP Ramesh Reddy and others were present.
