Tirupati: Faculty development program on CURIE-AI begins

Tirupati: The week-long faculty development programme conducted by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, CURIE-AI (Artificial Intelligence) centre sponsored by Department of Science and Technology begun on Monday. The programme on "New frontiers in artificial Intelligence- Societal Perspectives" will be held up to November 30.

In the inaugural session, Dr P Srinivas, Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder, City Mandi, Bengaluru, explained about applications of artificial intelligence in all fields of research. Registrar of SPMVV Prof DM Mamatha, who participated as chief guest, explained about applications of artificial intelligence in handling data in life sciences and how it has changed the scenario of research.

Prof R Nagaraju, Prof K Murugaiah and Prof A Ramakrishna Rao were present at the event and highlighted the need of artificial intelligence in the respective fields. Prof S Jyothi, co-ordinator of CURIE-AI centre has explained the need of training of faculty in this area. Dr S Madhuri Pardesi, Dr P Bhargavi and Dr D Sujatha were co-convenors of the programme.
