Tirupati: Farmers stage dharna for land ownership rights

Tirupati: A large number of farmers belong to Settipalli under the aegis of CPM leadership staged a dharna in front of Tirupati Urban Development Authority Office on Wednesday demanding to resolve land ownership issues.

It may be noted that more than 300 farmers had lost their ownership on lands due to many legal issues.

The Collector had appointed a committee a year ago to sort out this land ownership issues. For this, he appointed five revenue survey teams but in vain.

Over the title deeds, several times farmers had submitted memorandums to District Collector, RDO and Tahsildar. In this regard, once again they staged a dharna in front of TUDA office.

CPM state committee leader Kandarapu Murali, Subramanyam, Radha Krishana and Srinivasulu participated in the agitation.
