Tirupati: Government reorganises Tirupati Urban, Sub-urban police administration

Tirupati : For better maintenance of law and order and streamlining police administration, the government reorganised the Tirupati Urban and Sub-urban police administration from June 1, stated Superintendent of Police P Parameswar Reddy.

Addressing media persons here on Saturday, the SP said that the changes brought by the government in Tirupati police set up was that the Tirupati East Sub-division was changed as Tirupati Sub-division while the Tirupati West Subdivision changed as Chandragiri Sub-division. As per the government order (gazette notification), the changes will come into effect from June 1, stated the SP.

Similarly, Muthiyaran Reddy Palli (M R Palli) police station has been changed to Tirupati Rural police station.

The SP said that under the Chandragiri Sub-division, 7 police stations, Tirupati Rural (previously M R Palli), Tiruchanur, Chandragiri, Ramachandrapuram, Pakala, Yerravaripalem and Bhakrapeta were included while under the Tirupati Rural Police station limits, Gandhipuram, Chiguruwada, Durgasamudram, Ramanuja Palli, Gollapalli, Patha Kalva, C Mallavaram, Cherlopalli, Pudipatla, Peruru and Tummalagunta were included.

Under the Tirupati Subdivision, 4 police stations Tirupati East, Alipiri, West and SVU( Sri Venkateswara University) were included.

Tirupati East police station limits were also changed by including municipal corporation division 15 and 14 and the localities on the eastside between Annamayya Circle and ESI Hospital junction including Bairagipatteda, SGS Arts College junction and some parts in the northern side of Srinivasa Kalyana Mandapam to Vivekananda Statue including Raghavendra Nagar and Keshavayanagunta Main Road.

Under the Alipiri police station limits, Korameenugunta (previously under Tirupati East Police Station) was included and also Managalm, which was under Alipiri police station limits, brought under Tiruchanur PS limits, SP said while explaining the changes made in Tirupati city police set up.

The cases pertaining to the localities will also be transferred to the PS under which the area was included, SP said adding that the police department will also take up publicity campaigns for the sake of people to know it through social media and flexis.

ASP Venkat Rao, DSPs Surendra Reddy, Yaswanth, CIs Surendra Reddy, Raghavendra, Subramanyam and Abbanna were present.
